My favorite place to get a good slice of piña bizcocho. The chocolate dipped cookies are amazing too.

These guys are in a Dominican-heavy, prime location in the Grand Concourse area. Just a few doors down from where we did our taxes, I avoided looking Nitin's way but was easily tempted by their Dominican Pastries and Sweets. Dominican Cake is sinfully delicious with a unique texture and ratio- which doesn't compare to Yellow, White Cake or Pound Cake. Any Dominican (or not) can make the cake- but the thing is so freaking daunting to make, majority of Dominican folks go out of their way to endlessly search for a great Dominican baker. Place is practically the size of a LEGO®. But there's a variety of Dominican Cookies, Desserts and lots of cartoonish Cake toppers. Write ups here complain about horrible customer service- and I can almost see it. But listen...get your stuff, crack a smile, be on your way- and stop b*tching. Decided on 2 slices of Dominican Cake with Guayaba, a Raisin Cake and a Cortado for me and Mom. But Nitin is more known for their full Dominican Party Cakes- than anything else One decent try is all I needed and $11 for my 4 items was doable. I'll be honest though- my Guayaba-filled, Dominican Cake slice was moist and the Guayaba in it was fresh- but it was steering more like raspberryish ó¿ò. Really nothing like the one I grew up on- but was edible.

I was desperately looking for a place to do my gender reveal cake and after being disappointed at the customer service of a "well recommended" spot and another over priced bakery I was quickly losing hope. My partner recommended me to a bakery in the Bronx and at first I was a little skeptical. I went and was surprised by how nice the staff was. The two young ladies were incredibly helpful in assisting me-over the phone and in person. They had a fast turnaround and were super nice..expressing excitement at opening my sealed envelope with thw baby's gender. The day I went to pick up my cake it was raining but they were very busy nonetheless. I was very happy with my cake and the price was affordable. My family and I cut the cake thay night at our gender reveal dinner and we were ecstatic! The cake was a nice pink color-a girl!!!!! Besides yhe cake looking oh so pretty, it tasted quite good. They told me because of the color of the cake it would taste sweeter. I def recommend this bakery! Thanks girls!!!!

The original Resposteria Nitin in Santo Domingo is known as the best cake shop. This one has very good Dominican cake but not quite as perfect as the original one. I got my boyfriend a 3/4 pound cake with dulce de leche filling for his birthday and it was very good. You can place an order the same day a couple of hours in advanced. Cash only.

It was a bright sunny day, my friend Marleny and I were exploring the Fordham area of the Bronx without much entertainment. It seemed that everyone was cut from the same piece of thread... boring. Everyone dressed the same, the stores all sold the same things. Our senses were underwhelmed by our surroundings, so we made a few turns, walked up this block and down this block until we saw a bakery. Me: wanna go in? Marleny: no, I'm not in the mood to be disappointed. Me: shut up, let's go. So we walked in and looked around, it looked like a pretty typical bakery, cakes and cookies and coffee and stuffs... but... um... wait... they were Mexican? What you must understand in that I grew up in a Dominican neighborhood and think that all bakeries with elaborately designed cakes in the window to be Dominican bakeries. I was proven wrong. But it felt oh so right. Being adventurous we order a tres leche cake (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tres_leches_cake) and some coffee. Now, I've had some banging a$$ tres leches so I was skeptical. But then I ate it. And then I was in love. It was perfect in every way. Moist but not gooey. Sweet but not cavity inducing. Perfection. And that's not all they make that's awesome. During a Superbowl party my friends got me a birthday cake from that bakery and it was delish! If you are ever in the area, do yourself a favor and get me a tres leche cake... I mean, get YOU one... and me.
